If so, we want you to join our Infrastructure team in Birmingham!
Based in Birmingham’s bustling business district, our office is ideally situated close to Snow Hill station. Our welcoming and diverse team is working on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in Birmingham, across the UK and around the world. Please note we are also happy for this position to be in out Nottingham Office which is situated next to the National Justice Museum.
From sustainability-focused offices and commercial premises to cutting-edge industrial and healthcare facilities and from award-winning infrastructure and transportation developments to major new residential communities, we are supporting schemes across a huge range of sectors.
Our award-winning client is a medium sized civil structuring company who, due to securing a number of long-term prestigious projects, are looking for infrastructure design engineers to help assist with providing their first-class service.
As an ambitious engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the design for elements of significant infrastructure schemes consisting of smaller individual projects to multi-million-pound regeneration schemes.
Although we’re happy to consider applicants with more or less experience, you’ll ideally have qualifications, experience or skills in the following areas:
• Problem-solving skills particularly involving solutions to problems within the highway, drainage, civil engineering, and utility engineering sectors.
• Infrastructure design skills including:-
• Conceptual highway scheme evolution;
• Conceptual drainage scheme evolution;
• Involvement in negotiating and securing S104 and S106 agreements with sewerage authorities;
• Interpretation and discharge of planning conditions relating to, drainage, highways and infrastructure works;
• Experience with interpreting records and site information as well as manipulating 3D design software to perform utility clash detection analysis;
• Development of infrastructure design packages from concept through to construction.
• Experience in researching UK Engineering Standard guidelines relating to drainage and highways infrastructure.
• Demonstrative experience with specific software, such as:- Autodesk Civil 3D, MicroDrainage network modelling within industrial, commercial and residential environments, including coordinating with Civil 3D.
Desirable (But Not Essential) Complementary Skills include:
• Temporary Works design experience.
• Experience procuring and managing survey contractors and overseeing activities on site.
• Highways design experience and familiarity with UK design standards and negotiation of S38 and S278 applications.
