Waterman Infrastructure & Environment Ltd is a multi-disciplinary environmental and engineering consultancy operating across the UK with a strong profile in the infrastructure and environmental markets. We are seeking to further expand its Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) team and speak with passionate candidates by inviting you to apply for an opening of Senior EIA Consultant within our Bristol office.

Based in Bristol’s Wapping Wharf, our office is ideally located amongst the local heritage and cultural amenities. Our welcoming and diverse team is working on some of the most prestigious and innovative projects in Bristol, across the UK and around the world.

With your talent and knowledge of working within a variety of projects in the urban regeneration and infrastructure sectors they encourage you to drive the department forward whilst also supporting us on project sectors they are currently involved in, including large scale masterplans, strategic residential developments, town centre regeneration schemes and other urban redevelopment proposals, amongst other exciting projects.

The work within the department is very varied and engaging, where you will get involved with:

• Day-to-day EIA project management and coordination, primarily for large-scale urban development projects.

• Acting as lead author and editor of environmental statements, including drafting introductory and concluding chapters and reviewing technical chapters drafted by others;

• Co-ordination of multi-disciplinary services on non-EIA projects and liaising with members of Waterman’s technical teams;

• Attending meetings with clients, design teams, local authorities and statutory and non-statutory consultees;

• Managing project budgets for internal and external teams, including invoicing;

• Assisting with preparing fee proposals and contributing to bids; and

• Attendance with colleagues at networking and client events.

Although we’re happy to consider applicants with more or less experience, you’ll ideally have qualifications, experience or skills in the following areas:

• Educated to at least degree level in environmental science or a related subject and,

• Ideally hold a minimum of 3-5 years’ consultancy experience,

• Have a demonstrable track record in managing and delivering proportionate EIA on complex sites in the UK,

• Hold membership of a relevant professional body, such as IEMA,

• Have a positive and proactive approach, a keen eye for detail and the drive to be a success.
